That's What You Call A Near Miss!

I have an 11 year old cat. He isn't currently insured, but we are considering it. Not many companies appear to insure old cats. we have only found one, and the quote came out at 13 per month. What are people's opions/suggestions on this? is it worthwhile us getting insurance? Or shall we just take our chances? Can anyone recommend a good insurer for older cats?
Thanks in advance.
