Should this'accident'be removed
About 6 mths ago when I was parked up someone scratched my car with his.He turned it around, accusing me of scratching his car, when I went back and demanded my name and address.Due to his threatening ,abusive manor,I said no,and drove off to the local police station. There I was told I had committed the offense of failing to report an accident,so I gave them my name and address.
I thought this person was going to cause grief,so I informed my insurance company, stating,I would only be making a counter claim if he claimed first-damage was after all minimal.
On my renewal form it now states that I have had an accident, although not to blame(blame could not be proved by either party there where no witnesses)
Is it worth me trying to get this removed from my driving record,or would I just be banging my head against an insurance companys wall?
Thanks
Aya

My daughter was hit by another car whilst donig a 3 point turn damage was minimal but my daughter was incensed anyway the other woman said she was going through the insurance. We advised our insurance, nothing happened, we then got charged an extra £300 on the premium, we were then told that we had 100% but because she notified them and people under 21 were more likley to be involved in another accident
after a first one the premium is up? and they were all the same scam or what, no money paid out but premium up £300

Regardless of whose fault it may be you HAVE been involved in an accident claim and that is a statement of fact. You cannot expunge a fact from your driving record.
Every insurance provider will ask the same questions in regard of previous claims/accidents so you cannot escape this fact by moving elsewhere.
