My car insurance is with Direct Line, if I make a claim my no claim's will go from 5 years to 3. Roughly what percentage will I loose? DL won't tell me in case in changes and they get complaints. I'm trying to decide if it's cheaper to just pay the woman I bumped. Thanks
even if you settle direct with the other party, it's advisable to notify your insurance company but tell them that you are not going to make a claim. You will need to pay your own excess anyway.
If you have full no claims then pay the extra to the insurance company to have them protected which does not cost alot and your no claims wont be affected i think you can have 3 claims in 5yrs b4 your no claims is affected so its worth it.
what i'd do is do a new quote with 3 & 5 years ncb and see what the difference is. i'd do it with the company i'm with on their website, just as a rough idea.
