I am in the process of building a new system, changing from a Dell 2400, P-4 processor, 768 ram. Windows xp home, switching to a Abit ku8 m1689 Amd motherboard, Amd Athalon 64 3400 800mhz processor, ATI Radeon 9550 graphics card, 1 gb memory, and windows xp professional 64 bit operating system, and a new ATX mid-tower. These parts are all comming from various parts of the country so I hope to get them soon. Any thoughts or opinions on this? Did i do ok?

The graphics card is a tad old, and may struggle to keep up with some of the more resource intensive games that are coming out, but if you're not using it for gaming, that won't be a problem.
Also, Windows XP 64 bit can be a pain when trying to download new drivers for your hardware, because the manufacturer supplied ones are only 32 bit.

There are all sorts of stands there offering all sorts of computer components.
I built a PC a few month ago and bought the motherboard, CPU and memory from the same person.
That way I ensured they all worked together, and I also got a good price. I can also take them back to him the following week if anything goes wrong.
I also bought a Lian Li case that was a pleasure to work with.
