Firefox opening with history instead of bookmarks

Hi all. I've just switched on my PC to discover that after I click the firefox icon, firefox opens with my history list in the LH pane. I don't want it do this. I'd like it to open with my bookmarks in the pane. Does anyone know how I can restore it please as it was working OK up until now.

ctrl-H opens/closes history
ctrl-B opens/closes bookmarks

I think you may be misunderstanding me. I want firefox to open with the bookmarks list in the LH pane every time I click on the firefox icon. I toggle between the two, via your keyboard shortcuts or by clicking on the bookmarks icon on toolbar, but I don't want to have to do this every time. Everything was fine until I put the PC on tonight!

Have the bookmarks pane open and close FIrefox. When you restart Firefox that pane should be displayed - just tried it and it worked for me.
