how do i become a social worker????

hi everyone!!!!

i am 29 years old and i am looking to re-skill to become a social worker, mainly working with children or families.  i am mainly experienced in clerical and customer services but i am looking for something more rewarding and challenging.  i had a difficult upbringing and i would like to be in a career where i can help families and children.  so if you have any advice on who to contact and what qualifications i need then please get back to me, it would be very well received.

I went to the link you suggested and i have ordered all the information as well as the imformation on studying and qualifications, I will wait for it to arrive and look into it more seriously.

Best of luck - perhaps finding a job you enjoy will help with the other issues that you mentioned in your other question.

Re-training can be a bit scary - but totally worth it. At 29 you've got a long working life ahead of you if you don't like the field you're in.

if you have not got an "A" level in a subject that the uni that you will be going to requires you will need to do an access to higher eduaction course or an "A" level in a subject. then that is you ticket into uni

Good for you Sall. I have decided that Social Work is what I want to do as well (I'm 28) and am going to college in a few months to get my highers then on to do the Social Work Degree. Bet we both do really well!
