I was just walking in room and turned slightly to look at something and without warning fell to the floor. I had a ache in top of foot/Ankle, then it gave out. This happened before when crossing a road.. Sometimes walking down the stairs ankle suddenly buckles. Good job I always make a point of holding on to banister! I've had sciatica last few months on same side in leg. That feels a bit better now. I wonder if it's connected? Anyone experienced this?

I haven't but I am sure that many have.
Until a diagnosis given, maybe use a walking stick to help any more incidents .

I was wearing a lovely new pair of comfy shoes at the time, with strap going across top of ankle. I wonder if maybe that had something to do with it?.
Still waiting to see physio about sciatica. Waited nearly a month now.
No, both are related, your sciatica and your ankle weakness.

The sciatic nerve is nipped as it emerges from the lumbosacral spine (lower back) and as one of it's many functions is to manage the movements of the legs and ankles. Weakness of the muscles of the ankle is common in sciatica.

Thank you sqad.
I did wonder if it was connected.
Doctor gave me some Naproxen a few weeks ago for pain. Must say they are brilliant!
