Ladies, have you ever been to a dressmaker with your specifications of what you want, and been satisfied or very happy, or very unhappy,  with what the dressmaker has produced?

I haven't personally but a relative used a dressmaker to make an outfit for a wedding and she was very pleased with the result.  She outlined what she wanted and the dressmaker followed this.

I used to make my own.  Friends helped - wedding dress was all home-made with aid from sister-in-law-to-be regarding setting the shoulders. They all fitted very well.  Never employed a dressmaker.  However, my men have had very well-fitted suits tailor-made..... better than off-the-peg.
