Checkout operator.....as in working on tills????
Question Author
yes working on the tills
Most of the big names will take on Xmas staff about now so it is the best time to get a bit of experience behind you.. Although they will not be put off by the lack of experience they may be looking at you and saying that you will not stay for long in such a low skill job as you will get bored.

thanks for your tip. i am really sure that if any company will give me the opportunity, i will stay honest. i have been out of work due to moving to another area for a year, have never been out of work, it is driving me mad being at home. tomorrow i am going to the big stores to see if they want xmas staff.wish me luck.
Good luck Bellawalsh.. I know that in my home town.. Tescos, PC World, WHSmiths, Sainsburys are all looking for staff at present.. Dont apply for just checkout though. Apply for anything like shelf fillers, stockroom etc as most of these jobs will also look better on your CV and they will train you to do tills anyway for busy periods.
22 years in childcare, so you must be older than most. B&Q employ older staff, I think they actively seek them.
