Is anyone "in the know" able to advise me on which branches of engineering are set to be successful choices in the future (next few decades).
I am currently finishing my A-levels and i'm unsure which university degree to go for. i.e. aerospace, mechanical, or motorsport, engineering.

Those that provide you a career link into technologies /solutions for alternative energy development? Just a hunch.
(But I did choose to study Electronic Engineering at Uni back in 1971, which wasn't such a bad decision in hindsight).
I'd go for Nuclear Engineering. Most of world waking up to fact that only Nuclear will sustain demand and real shortage of Nuclear Engineers - high demand/low supply = lots of choice and money !
