Seeking Role IT Project Management

I've been out of the loop for a while now - 2 to 3 years, however, I'm seeking to 'get back' into a project management environment. I have 18 or so years experience within the IT industry, ( VMS, UNIX SQL NT Oracle Rdb, thin client role outs etc...) roles ranging from sales, account mgt, project mgt and general mgt. Are there any good guys out there who can help/advise? I have been talking to several agencies, but seem to be a bit of a waste of time, much prefer to deal with decision makers or those in a current role as opposed to a third party, I hence I'm now networking to feel my way back. If anyone can help is there any way we could communicate direct rather than using this 'third party' medium??? KR Ian

Why not write directly to some of the bigger IT services companies such as IBM, Fujitsu and EDS? They are often on the lookout for project managers.
