my 19 year old son was threatened by a drug addict with a cricket bat today - they mentioned dangerous dogs at his induction meeting on Thursday, but nothing about crack heads with cricket bats !!!
Apparently this 'gentleman'...... was agrieved because his giro cheque had not arrived on time - my son has this summer job with the Royal Mail and was delivering post this afternoon, because the usual postman was off sick.
My son is 6ft 3" tall, but this prat threatened him with a cricket bat - other residents of the flats wanted to call the police, but my son said no - there was another bag of post in the van, with the smack head's giro cheque amongst it - when my son delivered the cheque to his door, he apologised and even shook my son's hand. Strange - 10 minutes before he wanted to bash his brains in with the cricket bat.
He will need to get used to this, I am waiting for an ebay purchase of a 1925 piece of china that I paid 56 for and if my postie does not bring it on monday i will use the cricket bat M.O.,
Postmen/women do a fantastic job. If I had a say in it, they'd get paid much more than they do. Even if it meant postage rates had to go up - you still get fantastic value for money, IMO.
Dot - we have a lovely postman - but when I have a ebay parcel delivered, its usually by parcel force and they just leave it outside - they don't even knock.
by good condition would you be including not broken or broken but repairable with a good quality superglue?
I win alot of this series of china from eBay and thankfully (but no credit to the royal mail) most arrive in an undamaged state!
Well you do get to wear shorts in the summer posty and you dont have to wear a hard hat and eye protection and gloves and a hi-vis like the w@nkers so called health and safety force you to do on building sites
