I am currently studying to become a counsellor, but keep being told by tutors at college that its very difficult to get wok once qualified.  Also they keep going on about 'generic' placements.  What organisations offer 'generic' or general issues to deal with as a volunteer?  I dont mind volunteering with a 'specific' organisation, but would prefer general.  Can anyone help me out there?

try your local volunteer bureau.  I am a counsellor and got great experience as a volunteer working with young people at risk of offending.

Good luck

Thanks madjack, that's very helpful.   Dame Babs
I would have to agree to an extent, I qualified two years ago and am still to find work locally, but the volunteer sector is a great way to start. Good Luck, we are so needed.
