Qualifications needed to teach art
4 Answers
I am a 36 year old mother of two and I would like to pick up my career, now my children are getting older, as an art teacher.
I originally launched this by passing a 730:7 course before I had my first child. I have a degree in design. Currently I work full time in an office :(
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to the qualifications I would need to become a secondary school teacher and whether its possible to gain these qualifications at home or on a night course?

You will need to do a PGCE which you can do part time over two years or full time over one year, but you can't do it at night school. It will involve teaching in schools for around 8 months so you will need to do that during the day. You will have to take out a loan for fees
The alternative is a GTP type course where you train'on the job'
