if you wanted to work out for example 23% of 98, you put 98 x 20 and then press the percent button. If there is no percent button you would divided 98 by 100 to get 1 percent and then multiply by 23 to get 23 percent.
Thats the way I would do it anyway.
Yes to all the above, but also, to find out what percentage a number is of something else, (e.g. 28.79 is what percent of 983.8?) you enter the smaller number first, then the divide symbol, then the bigger, then the % button. So 28.79 / 983.8 %. I make it 2.926%.
