Went for lunch today to pub/restaurant, the waitress brought the Blackboard with the specials on it! carott and corriander soup, guiness steak pie, sheppards pie, she noticed we were amused by it and asked what was wrong we pointed out the spelling mistakes she said she had written it and admitted she was at University, good job she wasn't studying English Language etc her topic was History. Just goes to show you don't need a University education for common sense and spelling!

food for thought, eh?
she's just generous with her consonants
No-one ever said you did need a University education for those things... but it's not like having a University education hurts.
Incidentally, your punctuation isn't exactly world-class either. The words "Pot and kettle" spring to mind...
No spell checker on a blackboard!!
I wonder what their punctuation would have been like!
I went in a shop that had glossy posters advertising a 'duel' purchase offer.
i saw an advert on line for pc world and in big letters it said, 'Second Change Offer', the mind boggles

I wasn't writing the menu as I would have been particular my punctuation wasn't the point of this post
When we introduced word processors and computers to replace typewriters in our typing pools and offices in the late 1980s the IT Training department put big notices up in each office saying "Remember: use you're spellchecker"
No, your point was to make fun of someone else's poor spelling. That doesn't, however, look all that impressive when you make similar basic errors, albeit of a different sort. Comes over a little as sour grapes, perhaps. Or certainly something like "Doctor, heal yourself," -- look to your own errors first, they say, rather than other people's.

The girl herself saw the funny side that is why she admitted she was at University. Didn't expect this post to turn into a doctor doctor issue. Just wanted to point out spelling errors and people should be more particular when writing notices.

LOL @ Birdwoman.

My favourite was spotted on a filing cabinet in the school that I taught at. It seemed to indicate a dramatic change to the curriculum:
"P.E. stationary"

;-)
