I am getting my cpap device to treat sleep apneoa tomorrow at main hospital 22 miles away my dad is driving me. I dont know what they are like so it will be a learning curve for me. I have atrial fibrillation worse in the morning so GP thinks once I get the device it might help. Anyone got one of these and what is it like for you ? I have a cat that sleeps on my bed and I am worried it may freak her out.

My OH has had one for about 10 weeks. He has got used to it now and he does believe he sleeps better overall. The air being forced through the tubing can cause dryness to the skin around eyes and cheeks. If the mask is too loose a slight hissing noise can be heard caused by the air escaping but he has got used to how the straps should feel when applied correctly. I am sure your cat will get used to it.
Not all the masks are the same, my current one is lightweight and fits snugly over the nose. I can even wear my glasses to read in bed.
The first night of wearing a mask sleep was difficult, but you get used to it and by the third night I was sleeping like a baby.
