How Often Do You Ring People?
31 Answers
I rarely do. I once left my phone in the office for a week without realising...
Tonight my OH said I didn't speak to important people enough...so I phoned my son, then my daughter, other son....and then my mum.
I feel quite emotional....I didn't realise a phonecall meant so much to people.
Then I made OH phone his mum :-)

I prefer to ring, if I text and ask how a person is, they could say fine, but I won't know they are upset or otherwise, I know from their voice they are in a good place. My neighbour rings me often, if she doesn't see me heading out to shops or off on the bus she rings to see am I ok
I just realised....in my family, I am the one who may not hear a human voice except my own for a day or so at a time....how weird is that? And I actually don’t care. As I said, I text, facebook, imessage and whatsapp a lot.
When my Mum was older and housebound, one of us at least spoke to by phone every day, we visited often and she had a lovely daily carer.

I treat using the phone rather like shopping.
When shopping I have a list of things I want. I go to the shop(s) I need to, get the gear and scuttle home.
Making a phone call has to be for a specific purpose, e.g. "I'm going to be late"; "I'm unable to make it"; "Can I book a table for 8 o'clock, please". My calls are short and to the point (rather like my shopping).
I don't seem to have much to say to people on the phone and I cannot, for the life of me, understand how or why many people seem to spend so much time using one.
