Accounts Signed Off (Or Not)
0 Answers
You may recall that the European Union failed to get its accounts signed off for many years (I believe 13 years; the period from 1995 to 2007), with the accounts being signed off every year since then. Undoubtedly fraud and poor accounting procedures were to blame for the failure to have accountants willing to sign them off.
But guess what, the Department for Work and Pensions has failed to have its accounts signed off for the last 35 years – this makes the European Union’s financial management appear stellar.
