I have a friend who is returning to England after 15 years working and living in Thailand. He is bringing his wife and son with him. His son speaks only Thai so will have to learn English. Can anybody recommend any good English language books, cds or courses that would be of help to him.

What age is his son? The BBC has some great resources for learning, but one of the best and quickest ways for young children is through play and interaction with others.
Here's the BBC link - scroll down for pre-school.

Songs and music that need repetition are also useful.
Sorry - should have been songs and poems!
