100 is bang on average but I think the 'average' quartile goes from 90 to 110.
What do you mean by average - the mean of the UK population, world population? I thought the whole thing about IQ was that 100 was considered 'normal'.

It's between 85 and 115....
Mean IQ in 100,
Standard deviation is 15
Average IQ is considered to be one standard deviation either side of the mean.
*mean IQ is 100*
Re: Ladyalex. If SD is 15, roughly 2/3rds lie between 85 and 115, so 1 in 6 is above 115 and 1 in six below 85. I reckon less than 100 means "unreliable in intellectually challenging situations".
