Graded unit layout

I've started doing my graded unit at college and some of the other girls in the class are putting images and fancy borders around their page. I thought that a graded unit was supposed to be an academic piece of work. Surely they will get pulled up for doing that, right?

Also, while i'm talking about layout.. How would you set out a timescale? I've written it in a table writing the date like Monday 7th March... Would it be better written 07/03/2011 etc...

Any help would be great :)

What course is it you're doing, what is the time scale for? And I would definitely say no to the fancy borders; would imagine it looks immature and unprofessional!

Thanks for replying Sophie :) Thats exactly what I thought about the borders!

I'm doing HNC Early Education and Childcare. The timescale is just outlining what you plan to do within the whole project. For example it goes from lessons at the college about harvard referencing etc to discussing your topic with tutors and then on to how you are going to carry it out e.g. observations, interviews and the dates that you plan to carry them out on.
Oh I see, I'd go for the 07/03 but I don't like the / though so I'd put 07.03.11
