Its basically a silly little qualification that tells employers you are competent enough not to use electrical equipment with lose wires whilst stood in a puddle on a building site. It stands for construction skills certification scheme. thanks for the comment on my avatar too, boo!!
I sat that test it was one of the most hilarious things I've done. eg
If you have rubbish at the end of a job should you;
- Ask a colleague to take it home with their lunch box
- Load it onto your vehicle and dump it in the ditch
- Put it in the designated waste area
- Call a supervisor
But I passed unlike some old- timers who struggled because you can only sit it electronically. I felt very sorry for them. You really don't need to know how to operate a computer to be a safe site worker, very unfair.
You take the test on a touch screen computer and they are all multi choice. You get 50 questions and 45 minutes to answer them in. There are test for operatives/specialists or supervisors/managers and the questions can very a bit if you are in a specialist trade. Most people say they are simple but because they are they can lull you into a false sense of security. You can see example questions at http://constructionca.../cscs-test-questions/
