Does the quote below indicate I should be paid for lunch breaks or not?
"The Employee’s Hours of work will be between 9.00am and 17.30pm including half hour for lunch. The employee will be required to work from Monday to Friday inclusive"
Hours of work:
Minimum 40 hours per week. The Employee’s Hours of work will be between 9.00am and 17.30pm including half hour for lunch. The employee will be required to work from Monday to Friday inclusive. The employer reserves the right to change the employee's start and finish times.
The manager will be required to work Saturdays as required payment is incorporated into the management salary scale
That means (IMO) that you are doing a 5 day week, 8 hours per day = 40 hours. 9am-5.30pm = 8.5 hours. Very few people get paid for their lunch breaks (which is why in organisations like hours, where so many people work through their lunch and eat at their desks, we're actually working more hours that we are contracted for).
