What does it say in your contract. Ours says "Employee may be required to work extra hours when required", however if they have something else on then I will try and find someone else to cover. I don't know if they can legally force you to work outside your normal hours if you are unable to. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will be able to answer your question better than me! I hope it gets sorted for you
why do they say you have to? what's the problem that they need you to cover?

it does say the same thing but i did tell them i cant (even know i am now as they said i have to). were i work they treat you like something they would scrape from there shoe, i do 4 peoples jobs by myself and they still treat me like crap i said to my husband that if they are like that again with me i will walk out as i know by fact they will be lost without me especially this time of year. its the way they were saying it what got to me the most.
what sort of place do you work then, rachael?

I wouldn't just walk out, it doesn't do you any good if you need a reference for another job - but I'd certainly look for another job if my employer came on like this. What did they say would happen if you didn't turn up early?
I can do it but i keep the bonus
what bonus, bigglez? rachael doesn't mention being paid overtime or anything.
crimbo bonus time
if you get a crimbo bonus these days then you are extremely lucky - most people don't get extra at all at Christmas!
u gotta grab wot u can
Hi I thought they had to give you 24 hours notice of any change of hours, I could be wrong.
