Does anyone know where you can get copies if these? I'm applying for a job (eek) with the local council and I'm assuming they will want to see evidence of exam results, in all likelihood I'm jumping the gun as I doubt I'll even get an interview being as I haven't worked for 13 years (FT mum).

Thanks for any answers.

I have never known any employer actually ask to see exam certificates. It's possible that (after Maxine Carr was found to obtained to have obtained a teaching assistant's job by simply lying about her qualifications) things might have been tightened up a bit in some areas but I'd still be surprised (unless the work involves working with children or vulnerable adults) if you were asked to provide exam certificates.

However, here's the answer you've asked for:

Hey Rocky... I needed a copy of my Exam results.. a few years ago.. and I contacted my old school.. they sent me a copy of them through the post... I left school ermmm.. 25 years ago... worth a thought!!.. Good luck Mrs C x
Hi Rocky, I worked for the local council and they did want to see the actual certificates. Good luck.
Actually Chris, if you apply for a job with the Government they require your certificates or else they will not employ you unless you are willing to sit an entrance exam.

I have sat on interview panels where we have refused to interview someone who has not brought there certs with them!

Thanks for all your advice. The closing date for the job is monday so I need to get a shuffty on, bugger though as I can't remember all of my results, a rake through the loft tomorrow morning is looking likely.

Thanks again.
I must admit I keep all my details on a master copy of my c.v. - if I were you and you can't find them, I'd say so - you know the dates and the school etc., and you're obtaining copies.

Just had a look £37 for each certificate, that's £74 For Funks Sake, I'm definitely raiding the
loft tomorrow now.
Question Author
Huh, from their website

"Applications cost £37 per qualification. If we don’t have your results on our databases, we will issue a £12 refund. The rest of your application fee we keep to cover our staff and administration costs."

So if they can't find me I'll lose at least £25!

Found them in the loft, thank God.

Thanks for all your help.
Good luck with the application xxx
Good luck!!I have to say I also work for my local council and they have never asked to see my exam certificates. Think I lost them about 20 years ago!
Good luck with the job application rocky. Let us know how you get on xxx

Thanks Mrs O.

Smow, I wanted to have them just in case, plus the fact that I couldn't remember what grades I got, I didn't want it to look like I was lying on the application. As it happens, I don't know if I have enough GCSE's as I did O'Levels and CSE's, I'm still applying though as I have lot of experience for what they are looking for. Scary Mary stuff!
Well on one application form I put that i was a mother and that I didnt think there was a harder job than that!
