Redundancy And Retirement...not Really 'career' Or 'law'...
3 Answers
... I'm not sure where to post this,so here goes.
A neighbour of mine is passed retirement age (he's 67) and is now working a shortened 3 day week.He has worked continuously for the same company for the last 23 years. The company is a huge world wide group but there is a real danger that the site where he works will be closed down making the whole workforce (about 270) redundant. So far the company has made no comment regarding possible redundancies.
His question is:
If he was under 65 and on full time he would get the full 23 year redundancy money owed, but as he is over 65 and on a 3 day week, would his redundancy package be affected??
Can anyone help us on this one, many thanks in advance.
