csa

Hi im loking for some advice about my csa case. My ex left around 8 years ago. He very quickly decided he was going to haveno contact with his 3 young sons and refused to come to any arrangements with regard to maintenance payments. I told him that i would contact the csa to make the arrangement then. I did exactly that however once the assesment had been done the amount he was told to pay was a pathetic £23 a month for 3 kids!! The cheepskate had quit his job. During the middle of last year my husband ( Who has taken on my 3 boys an raised them as his own ) injured his back at work and so conseqently money became very tight i decided tha i would ask the csa for a review as any extra money would help and at the end of the day i dont see why the kids should suffer. So anyway after a good few months the review was eventually completed and the amount he had to pay was increased to £175 a month. I recieved this twice, once in november an once in december, januarys did not arrive and after contacting the csa and the csa having to contact his employer because he was not cantactable on any of the numbers the had for him i was told that his employer said i december he walked out of his job. We are now back down to £15 a week. Is there anything i can do about this. Surely he cant be allowed to do this. Walk out of employment sign on and all to dodge csa payments??

Having researched this issue a bit, I have to conclude that the CSA seems to be totally teethless to do anything for fathers who are that determined to avoid their responsibilities.
Having websites around like this one doesn't help one iota either.

..... or earning through a PAYE employer.
The reason is blindingly obvious. To have any success at extracting money from wayward fathers, there has to an organisation (Government or employer) who can be coerced into removing the funds at source. Once earnings are given to the father, it clearly aint' going to happen.

Unfortunately I'm afraid he probably will get away it. I was in the same position as you when we divorced and my son was 1. He is now 14 and I have received about £200 in all that time.
I found it best to just write off any hope of it as it just upset me and drove me mad. Your children will appreciate what you have done and what he hasn't.
