For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.write up a CV & hand it in to everywhere you might possibly want to work, don't forget local temping agencies! make sure you're positive, consider doing a few versions depending on what place you're applying to - emphasise computer-literacy for temping agencies, whereas for shop-work talk about how hard-working & interesting you are.
there is a legal limit for hours but you can opt out of that part of the law, once you get a job sorted speak to your employer about it
best of luck!
Perhaps you should do some work experience. You won't get paid though you may get expenses and food.
Even if you do, say, 4 weeks worth at 4 different places, get each one to write you a reference and then you'll have something to put on your CV because as you said your school exam results aren't good and though they may not be a reasonable representation of your abilities unfortunately thats all they have to go on - unless you can prove otherwise, which is where the W/E comes in.
You never know one place may offer you future work and if you choose the right companies you will have a better idea of what sort of work you would like to go into
