Day off for Royal Wedding
8 Answers
We got an e mail saying its still in discussion about whether the Royal Wedding Day in April is to be given as a bank holiday or extra days hol. I think it should be an extra days hol so every working person can benefit for those of us who dont work on a Friday. What do you think

My preference would be a day to take when you wanted, on the wedding day itself if you wished, but I suppose many would see that as removing the very reason it was given in the first place. (If one doesn't normally work on that day I think a day in lieu could be offered anyway.)

we don't know if we are getting it or not yet...but if we do it is likely to be an extra day A/L as clinics are not being cancelled.... and I feel that would be the right approach...hospitals shouldn't stop for a royal wedding. I had surgery on the day Diana was buried and I am sure thats why it went wrong people were not fully concentrating on the job
sorry to hear about that rowan. You could be right though.
Im not going to be watching it as Ive better things to do on my day off but I want a day in leiu to take when I want
I dont think anyone needs to watch it on the day as it will be on the news and papers for probably a month, watching their every move.
