I agree with naz.

A covering letter should be short, and say something like "I would like to be considered for *** job, and enclose my c.v.
I have some experience in ***, I am (you choose) friendly/oputgoing/good with people/computers etc, which I note is part of the requirements in the job description in your advertisement.

Ok, this is a serious answer - I wouldn't use 1 instead of 'one' when talking about yourself, and I'd learn their/they're/there differences.

Yes, it should include everything that is relevant to the job being applied for, plus all the 'usual' past experience / qualifications / etc.

I hope you will consider my application and I look forward to hearing from you in due course"

Something along those lines - the covering letter shouldn't be a repeat of your c.v., just flag up the skills you have which are relevant to the particular job you are applying for.
Don't use abbreviations, make sure you spell everything correctly. make sure you give all your contact details at the top of the letter - address, tel no. email address if you think they might contact you by email.
and don't forget to sign it, original signature every time, no photocopies!
Good advice above - and, boxtops, you've got the job!

DC - it does matter, this isn't a forum, it's a Q&A site - we can only go on what you type as to the way you would write your letter.
^..and I hope my answer does give you the answer you are looking for ;-)

boxtops, yes i understand that but i see the site as not as important as typing out letters, i knowingly make errors and shortcuts when on here and forums as i dont see them vital,
