You withdraw £20 from the cash machine and get £40.

As you walk away a man asks if you got an extra £20 because he got £80 instead of £100.

Do you:

a) Admit it and give him the £20
b) Deny it and keep it
c) Deny it and hand it in to the bank at the first opportunity.

It might be a good idea to go inside the bank and check what was going on, just in case he was trying to get money from you by false pretences. However, I am essentially honest and would find it very difficult to keep it if it wasn't mine.

On the one hand - it's only £20. He'll get his money back, I hope.

Then again, it's not mine and he may need it.

Yes but.... there is that new game out I want. Or a bottle of champagne would be nice.
Sorry can't talk on my way to the pub with my free £20 squid!!!
I am that person who got short-changed £20 by the cash machine (and didn't get it back!) - not so long back that would have been the end of the world, so it's a tricky one.
£20 may be a lot of money for some people.
If I didn't earn it I don't deserve it. a)
excuse me hc, how are you tonight ttfn ? nice hat !
Struggling a bit thanks anne. The boss sent me home after 2 hours saying I looked 'crap'. I know I felt it, but really ... lol. Cheers hc
You know it probably belongs to the chap who only got the £80. Do as you would be done by. You'll feel all the better for it.
I picked up a £10 pound note walking through a car park. I passed a couple coming the other way who were arguing about a lost £10 note. I gave it to them and didn't even get a thanks mate.
maybe a wee rest from work ttfn, have you seen gp recently ?
I have 6 weeks leave to take anne and see GP in a week's time.
Mic, that has happened to me more often than I care to remember. What ever happened to good manners?

I've found a note in the machine before as I went to use it. I stared at it for a good five minutes and no one claimed it so I brought myself a nice lunch. I've also found notes in an ASDa at the self service where the change was, I put my stuff through slowly and no oncame so I took that too. If someone had asked for it I would have given it back but otherwise, I'm simply not that virtuous.
