My pc crashed and I used to have Vista. Now I am on Windows 7. I do a lot of photo editing (Cropping & brightness of photos etc). I used to be able to open in the windows photo gallery and all my options were on the right hand side. With this new windows it just isn't possible.

Does anyone have any ideas or even suggest a free editing program that I can downoad and use.

It all seems to have got very technical now. I just want a very simple and easy one to use.

Thanks

Paint.net is pretty good.

GIMP is very advanced and although it isn't yet at the level of Photoshop it is continuing to advance. It is complex but worth the effort to learn because it is going to be around for a long time and will get there.
IrfanView is a king photoviewer .. and a basic editor (cropping/resizing,colour correction, sharpness, etc) Plus it can open practically any photo file.
Use that!
a free quite good one is picassa 3
Google's Picasa is popular and easy to use:

but Serif PhotoPlus Starter Edition is also well worth a look. (It's the free version of a full commercial program):
