£250 to support teaching staff???

Can anyone help me here please....our union rep has told us (at the school I work in) that there is £250 allocated to support teaching staff for this year or last year because we are not getting a pay rise. Also that the money has already been given to the local authorities. Can anyone enlighten me please??

I don't know about teaching staff, but in the NHS people earning less than £20K are being given a rise of £250 this year, because all cost of living rises for all of us have been stopped. I wonder if it's the same £250?

I think it is Boxtops....have you had yours??? Our issue is that we haven't received it yet it is in the school budget. Hmmm funny that.

We got lump sum payments instead of pay increases in he civil service (before I managed to escape) - it means that there it does not impact on your pension. I don't really understand all the money side of it - but it is to save them money.

I think for teachers the annual pay review is implemented in September. If support staff are on the same timescales then maybe the one-off payment will be in September
