Boxy, now it's clear that this whole thread is a wind-up! Anyone who believes that they're going to find grammatically correct writing on a blog site is clearly delusional...
Good luck, Limpy. From my experience, the teachers marking your grammar don't even know the correct way to punctuate.
So sad, but all too true...
If you want one of the standards you could do a lot worse than this

That's my point. To me boxtops is correct in the American format.

In English, The biggest film of all time is "Avatar"; in 1993, it was "Jurassic Park."

And if I am to be absolutely correct as to my English for this sentence above.

In English, "The biggest film of all time is 'Avatar'; in 1993, it was 'Jurassic Park'."
Mark is probably spot on. Period. Full Stop. Aaaaaaaggggggh.
Have any of you read Lynn Truss's book "Eats shoots and leaves"?
DT - yes, I can agree with that version, too.

So, as I'm English, I should use 'Jurassic Park'. And that's final, yeah?
I have indeed, SG.

A woman without her man is nothing.
Well, tell you what y'all, I'm off to bed!

Probably have a rupture of my colon tonight...
Indeed I have, stargazer - and the subsequent publication of similar name but which would be censored on here...
I don't fecking care, LL. Do what you think fit and, hopefully, you may fail your examination.
which examination is this??

I'm confused?
You shouldn't be any more, Lionel. we have explained it clearly enough.
Boxtops, I am cracking up here at imagining the title of a subsequent book!
Either that, or you're deliberately pretending not to understand something that's been explained to you over and over again...
I won't write it, stargazer ... here it is http://www.amazon.co....English/dp/1843170981

I'm joking, boxtops; I was just trying to enrage Mark that bit more (on purpose this time).

Thanks for all your posts, they've been a great help.
