My wife has been informed that her employment with the Public Service is being moved to a private company under TUPE (Transfer of undertakings, protection of Employment). Her bosses can give no details whatsoever at the moment so is there anyone with similar experience? How long did you stay on the same wage, contract etc? Thanks

I was TUPEd within the NHS, I'm still on the same pay scale and conditions, 5 years later. I believe that if you move out, there is a limited time after which, if the new employer reorganises, conditions may then change.

Thanks boxtops, it looks like her job will change right away so wondered if anyone knew how quickly they might change her conditions.

Thanks Buenchico, it looks like that when the changeover happens, if the job is not the same then the company can make what changes it wants to terms and conditions - not looking so good!
