NEBOSH general certificate
10 Answers
Hi, i have been thinking lately about retraining for a different career as i am likely to be made redundant next year (currently work for a PCT)
Health and safety sems a good bet, and i think i could manage to pay for a nebosh general certificate. However, it seems that the general certificate is more for people who just have health and safety as part of their other role, not a qualification to build a career on. Anybody have any ideas if this is the case, or whether it could be a good idea?

The site H&S officers however have the NEBOSH Diploma and often also a qualification in auditing, Environment and Quality. It certainly does seem though that once you have these on your belt the job market is quite good.

Nebosh themselves obviously suggest you have the cert first. You used to be able to do that in a week though, don't know if it's still the same.
