how do you become one of those people who sits in court and types everything everyone is saying what courses and qualifications do you need and what are they called

To be a stenographer you just need to be qualified and apply and cross your fingers.  No criminal record would be a requirement I imagine!

A friend of mine wants to do this!!!  There is a college in Ireland - it's the only college in the Uk and Ireland etc which teaches it.  It's for three years.  Obv you have to be a good typist anyway but I don't think you have to have any specifc qualifications.  They let 20 people from overseas there a year.  They pay is brill, to be a court typist, you could be earning at least �400 per day!!
