What to do in London with a 7 yr old?......
23 Answers
We will soon be taking our 7 year old grandson to London as we go regularly and he always asks to come but have been waiting until he is old enough to appreciate what he is seeing. We will take him to see Big Ben, Buckingham Palace etc. I dont want to get back and then think of somewhere we should have gone - where would you go? Also i want to take him to the O2 - which boats go there? would they also go in the other direction to cover most of the popular sites? thanks for your help.

Also it can be reached by boat so iim thinking if we get a day card he can see lots of other sites plus get off and go in there. We wont have time for the zoo mainly seeing the sites plus he wants to go to hamleys!
science museum and natural history museum...anything else will be boring for a 7 year old - both of those are fantastic places to take him and educational. also the london eye - but pre-book and it can be expensive. but imo...that would be a dream day out and my son and i did that when he was 11 and we had a super day x
As Jemisa suggested London Zoo, but the Natural History Museum is free, my daughter used to love the dinosaurs and animals. There is plenty of activities as well aim at chidren. http://www.nhm.ac.uk/index.html
Battersea park zoo, the westminster greenwich riverboat trip, round london open top sightseeing bus, London Zoo is a bit expensive and there is a lot of walking between exhibits
The london Aquarium, If he likes wild life there are some great kids exhibits at the london wetland centre including 'down the plughole' don't ask...but there was a lot of laughter coming from that area last time I went,

I appreciate that not all of these are for a 7 year old but I hope its helpful:

Yes, the Duck Tour is brilliant.
And lunch at The Rainforest Cafe is a "must".

we will have 2 full days there. and i do realise how time will be an issue which is why im planning it well before we go and i think a boat trip to get to o2 will be more beneficial than tube as many sites can be taken in along the way. Cost will not be an issue on this occasion. Where does the duck tour go? also i do not plan to go anywhere for lunch (such as rainforest cafe) as i feel that will waste valuable time (considering possibly going early evening?)
