Hi I was a care assistant, and have a Btec Diploma, intermediate in care. However for the last year or so, have been doing a different job. I wish to go back into caring, so I now need to attain my NVQ 2. I no a lot of care homes offer training for this when you take on a vacancy. But I would like to have this qualification, before I apply for any vacancies, so I can go in ready armed, you might say! Anyone know if there are places in the essex area, where I can take on this course free of charge, or will I have to pay, as I think the course's are quite expensive. Thanks

As you need to be observed undertaking most of the tasks I don't think it would be possible to take an NVQ2 without a placement. I'm doing my NVQ2 now!!
