I've only ever bothered trying to claim JSA very few times & occasionally I've asked them to backdate it with what I think is a perfectly legimate reason. But they've always refused.

Has anyone ever managed it ?

Thanks corby but we are talking about JSA if there is a change of circumstances and a decision is superseded, the extent to which the benefit can be backdated will depend on the circumstances of the case. If you notify the DWP within one-month benefit is backdated to the date of the change, as stated.
