Allowance for at work
7 Answers
My girlfriend was unfortunate to lose her job. She has been on JSA for 2 weeks and now has anther one. This new job pays monthly and from what she has said, they have just paid the monthly wage and you have to work a month in advance, so it could be up to 7 weeks till she gets paid. Is there an allowance to help her to get to and from work, she can not get job seekers as she has work, but is there any other allowance that she may be intitled too?

The rate of pay and frequency is a principle statement and your GF should have been aware of the situation, which I know will not help. Most people explain their situation and ask their employer for an advance of salary, good employers will usually provide this if they understand the position, but I can understand some reluctance in asking for an advance of salary with a new job and the employer is under no obligation to provide it. The only other option will be too ask family and friends for a loan.
