I have used Microsoft Word and Excel in the past, probably just at a basic level, a couple of jobs I have looked at recently have asked for applicants to be 'fully conversant' in them. So i am looking to do an online course to brush up and improve my skills. Can anyone suggest a good online provider? Do you think I would need to gain a qualification or just prove I can use both applications?

Any advice would me much appreciated.

Learn Direct is a good reliable place for online learning. No qulaification needed, just the ability to use the applications at a reasonable level. There's probably no need for advanced excel skills unless you're going into a Finance Office. Just basic spreedsheets with everyday formulas.
