This question isnt for me. Its for my mate. She isnt a member, however she is handing in her notice at work and asked me if I knew a good way to put down that she's leaving. I thought I would ask if you guys have any ideas? Shes leaving due to not liking the bitchy atmosphere and generally being unhappy at work

Not matter how unhappy she is she just needs to write a polite letter. Something like this.

Please accept this as my notice to leave my employment with you as "job title". I give the required "?" weeks notice and will finish on "date".

I have enjoyed my time here and wish the company ever success. Or some other nicety.

Has she mentioned this problem to the boss previously/are they aware of whats been happening? X
She can have two options:- 1) to just saying that she is writing in resignation/giving her one months notice (or however long), or 2) start with that and also explain exactly why she's leaving. She is not obliged to give a specific reason and they also cant force her to work her notice.

Alternatively she can stay put and write a grievence letter to her boss stating her complaints about being unhappy at work. If it is the boss who's bitchy then she should write to the next person up the ladder.
Just don't do what my mate did and walk up to the boss , hand over the letter and tell him to stick it up his @rse along with the job !
His new job fell through and he had to come crawling back and ask for his old job back !
Id thank them for the opportunity and state how much notice i was giving and please take this as my formal notification or whatever x
She doesn't have to give a reason, just say that she's leaving and that her last working day will be ****.
