Good evening all. I've asked MM to allow me a say. When I was 14 I worked on the market. 6 till 6 every Saturday. I was paid £1 plus a fish and chip lunch. I loved it and did it until I left school. On leaving school I took an office job and hated it. The women were without exception all nasty catty pieces of work, as soon as someone left the office everyone talked about them. So I decided this was not for me either. So I took a university placement. When I got my degree I went to work in an Engineering factory. I loved it worked there until I was 58. Then redundancy's were announced and the same b1tch that made my life hell when I worked in the office 30 years earlier now worked in the head office of my company. It's been nearly 4 years now since I lost my job. I love retirement. Not short of money, but if i see the b1tch crossing the road I would still run her over.

Hi Mrs MM, sorry you feel that way, but view it as her having done you a favour if you like retirement- no point hanging onto things- you can nurse a grudge but it will never get better.

Do you really think that she's remembered 30 years back, and she was behind your redundancy? That sounds to me a very small probability, redundancy doesn't work like that - it's the job, not the postholder, which is redundant. I wouldn't waste space in my life hanging on to this bitterness about something like that, especially as you are enjoying your retirement so much.

Right I now have this thread back. Mrs MM did not say lady she said B I N T.
Boxy. Mrs MM was the only woman on her section doing tool setting. The job was not redundant. As soon as she left someone else was taught the job. Very badly it appears as they caused several thousands of pounds damage. She considered unfair dismissal but in her words, .....best not say.

Then the company's in the wrong, micmak - if they made Mrs MM redundant, the law says they can't replace that job within 6 months, otherwise it's not redundancy.

I know that boxy, so did Mrs MM. After all the swearing and ranting she decided they (her) want me out. I'm tired of fighting. This did happen nearly 4 years ago but I think Mrs MM will take her bitterness to her grave. Unless she can run the b i n t over.

What an extraordinary series of posts- I must admit I'm quite confused as to why even if she was unfairly dismissed, she is holding such a huge grudge and yet has not done anything practical about it.
