(sorry this is really long, though i'd add detail so i give the full picture)
*repeatedly punched me to the point where I now have unfortunately lost sight in my eye. My boyfriend heard the punches and ran downstairs and grabbed the girl off me. (My housemate tried to stop him from doing so)
At this point they have panicked as they thought I was alone, they have rung the police. Conveniently, showing them this recording of me pushing then punching this girl (nothing at all of her pushing me down the stairs or of her pounding my face in).
This girl had a scratch on her chin from me trying to push her off when she was sitting ontop of me. I am not strong enough to cause any bruising. This girl is well build, muscly. She to me, was a threat.
The police based on what they saw in the video (I was too traumatised to even speak to give them my version of events) have arrested ME on suspicion of assault! - anyways, when I get to the police station and I'm allowed my phone call they see that this is not the case from what I have said on the phone. (Don't know how it took the police a phone call to see that I had been assaulted too, looking at my face you could clearly tell!)
I was locked in a police cell for 8 hours (received no medical attention, no pain relief, nothing) I was then interviewed the next morning.
Granted bail pending further enquiries (as was the girl who assaulted me)
Since then she has breached her bail TWICE - once by following me down some stairs and the other by assaulting me (kicking) in a nightclub. I reported both to the police officer involved. 'no evidence so I cant crime it' was his answer.
Today I went to the police station to answer bail. This officer was completely bias, twisting my words everything.
This video really really portrays me in a bad light. Obviously it is a selective video, conveniently recorded after provoking me into a reaction by pushing me down the stairs.
My main point to the officer was that I feared this girl (texts for the past few weeks showed this) his response 'well they were to your friends'.
I told him I wanted her out the house, didn't feel safe with her being there. He said she was a guest and had a right to be there apparently!
Regardless, I stuck to my guns and claimed I done what I done out of self defense.
I have been bailed to go back in 2 weeks as they have given the information to the cps.
I am worried they won't show my texts to the CPS - they clearly show my frame of mind and how different I was feeling inside compared to how it looks on the video.
I was given a duty solicitor, to be honest I felt like he could have done more he didn't know anything about these texts and when I asked him what he thought would happen he believed that they would end up charging me and the girl who has BLINDED me would get away with self defense.
I am getting myself a specialised solicitor as I also felt that the duty solicitor had a close relationship with the police, and I don't want a solicitor who is negative in thinking I am going to be charged, I want one who will completely fight my corner.
These two girls have bullied me, made my life hell and now they are potentially going to ruin my life if I get convicted of common assault.
I would appreciate any advice, comments or anything at all which you believe could help me or my case.
Many thanks for any help and I'm sorry the question was so long.
