Does Anyone Have Any Details On The Quality Difference Between Retread Tyres and New Tyres ?
I am looking to prove a professional point regarding the quality difference between 1st life new tyres and retread / remould tyres (i.e. the mileage difference or the percentages of blow outs between the two tyre types).
I know that this is a common discussion point in the industry, however I am not looking for opinion, I need straight facts or statistics to show the difference between the quality of retread / remould tyres and new tyres - particulalry with commercial vehicle tyres.
Does anybody know where I can find any suitable information?
Thanks in advance

If you are talking about Bang dag specials as we used to call them in the Haulage Industry, 9 you used to see these these littered on the Motorways of the UK, these remoulds were cr@p, with the weight the HGV carries, the tyres used to get hot causing the tyre to blow out, the remoulds were never used on the steering axle but on the drive / & trailers. Car tyres, for the price difference ( & there isn't a lot in it) I would go for new on a point of safety. I would go onto the Eddie Stobart Site & get them to give you details, also contact the likes of ATS, National Tyres, they should give you the exact information that you need.
