A Question with a few possible answers....?
4 Answers
Hello everyone,
I've just started a Level 4 course in Childcare via distance learning and I'm so keen to get started!! I've got to wait a couple of days before I get a personal tutor assigned but the first assignment question has already got me slightly puzzled and I just thought I'd pop it on here to see if anyone has any constructive ideas on it (May I just say now, without sounding too horrible, that if people are going to post saying, 'do your own work' then you really don't have to bother posting as this is just a little thing I'm querying!)
The question is as follows...
'Discuss the key aspects of Early Years child development in the contexts of providing support and an appropriate child care setting'
Now, the whole 'appropriate child care setting' thing is a no brainer, its the 'support' bit that has got me slightly puzzled as 'support' could mean a whole list of things and while I could easily list all of these things, I've only got a word limit of 1500 .... what are your thoughts?
Thanks! :)

So, what are the key things (practical; attitudes; policies; staff awareness) needed when you are working with families who may have low incomes / minimal education - such getting across to them the need to enjoy joint play and joint story-telling; how to get across the notion that play builds learning and isn't just wasted time; nutrition, sleep, routines etc.
Just guessing!

Thank You both very much!!!
Yeah I'm being assigned a tutor tomorrow but I think I've cracked it! You sound like you work for Open University Boxtops ? This one I have got is through UK Open Learning.
Im not gonna rush in getting the work in but im keen to get my teeth into all of it, especially as Uni didn't work out for me! It's a lot like my level 3 thought so I'm happy to be doing something that's a bit familiar !
