Setting up a Facebook business account info

I have a personal Facebook page and would like to open a business account for my small one woman business. Is this allowed? I'm a bit confused as to how this all works. A friend said she's pretty sure I sign into my own personal account and create a business page, but I want to be sure this is correct as it seems difficult to change things on Facebook once they're done.

I will be opening a small one woman business offering a service. Working mostly from home but it may also be travelling further afield. So I'm not sure whether I should be opening a local business account or a business account?

If anyone can offer any idiot proof advice :-) or point me in the direction of a set of clearly written/unambiguous instructions I'd be very grateful. Thank you.
