If they are advertising, surely there will be a job description?
One of my best friends used to be one lumination. I've just been talking to him for over an hour so too late for today but I can speak to him tomorrow for you and find out. He did it up in the NorthEast. Money's rubbish I remember that much.
One of Mr O's friends worked for a well known bank from leaving school until his late thirties and then suddenly decided upon a career change to that of RSPCA inspector. He had no previous experience whatsoever.

sounds promising.
Shame about the pay by the sounds of things but, if its doing something i enjoy its a job im willing to take! thanks ladybirder any info would be great.
Plus im in the south, near Gatwick airport, no spaces for that job available near me... :(
lumination I haven't forgotten you and will get back to you as soon as I have spoken to him, which won't be tonight now. Just keep checking this thread. x
Hi lumination, my friend says that voluntary work is the way to go at rescues etc. Do what you're asked quickly, cheerfully, without complaint. Become friendly with an inspector and let everyone know that you want to become. My friend says he had two interviews before he got the job (he covered a HUGE area) as an internal candidate beat him to the post. As I said the money is rubbish and the job is long hours and not easy. Some of the things you have to deal with can break your heart but you have to be sensible and not let sentimentality get in the way. And you'll want to commit murder many many times with some of the people you have to deal with.

So if you're serious, get down to your local rescue and get volunteering. Good Luck.
